The Background
The client’s group of hotels operates in more than 20 international locations spanning Asia, UK, and Africa. Initially, bookings were done either at the respective hotels or through selected travel agents. Bookings were impressive when client started its business in early 1990’s, however, with growing competition and increased scope offered by the information technology, other hotels started online reservations and gain substantially.

The deliverables
Keeping in mind the rising competition in the hotel and tourism industry, the group decided to offer online reservation facilities and generate more income utilizing the rapidly increasing opportunities offered by the Internet. The group had an existing website; however, the functionalities of online reservations had to be added.
